What is Angiography?

Angiography is a type of X-ray used to examine blood vessels. Blood vessels cannot be seen clearly on a normal X-ray, so a special dye must first be injected into the blood. This will highlight the blood vessels so the surgeon can spot problems. The X-ray images created during angiography are called angiograms.
