What is DJ Stenting?
The DJ stent is short for a Double "J" stent. It is a small tube that is placed in the body from the kidney to the urinary bladder. It has a shelf life of about six weeks. The lower part, which is on top of the urinary bladder, is in the shape of an ordinary "J", while the upper part is like a mirror image. The shape helps to keep the stent in the body.
DJ stents are used in the following cases:-
